My Reply : In terms of chicken 'love' bribery usually is the most likely to work - regular visits with a handful of treats can bring them rushing to the door every time they see you. If they will let you pet them and pick them up that can also be a good thing to do ocassionally as it builds up their trust (useful in case you ever have to handle them for some other reason). When chickens are young they often don't get the hang of roosting at night and sometimes even huddle together on the floor so it may just be their age that caused them to sleep in the nesting boxes. They have a natural tendency to want to go to the highest place to roost so if the roosts are higher than the nesting boxes they should, in theory, prefer the roosts (especially as they are now used to them).
